This American born Soprano, raised in Pittsburgh,
began her career giving recitals while still a child and she was known
for her extremely well developed voice at such a young age. At sixteen
Ms Ostrakovna received a prestigious academic scholarship for Germanic
studies at the University of Vienna and from there she emerged as a unique
presence on the international concert scene. While still a teen Ms Ostrakovna
attended music festivals in Italy, Germany and Austria. There this remarkable
soprano was thrust into performing operas, operettas and Chamber music.
Upon returning to the United States Ms Ostrakovna began studying in New York City where she won a scholarship to the world famous Julliard School of Music. Concurrent with her studies, she performed in the shows around New York City including Principal parts in off-Broadway productions. With rave reviews in tow, Ms Ostrakovna continued to attend music festivals in Europe and the States attending master classes with Eleanor Steber, Birgit Nillson, Luciano Pavarotti and Jan DeGaetani. Ms Ostrakovna continued her professional career while living in Germany. She traveled from Switzerland to Austria performing in productions in several prestigious opera houses. Ms Ostrakovna continued giving chamber music recitals throughout Europe. Especially noteworthy were her recitals in Budapest, Hungary and Seville, Spain. Through her extensive traveling and immersion in diverse cultures she was able to bring enormous depth to her operatic roles.
